Parque Nacional da Gorongosa
Gorongosa National Park, Mozambique
Gorongosa National Park is one of the Africa’s most successful wildlife restoration story. Starting in 2007, where you can hardly see any animal to a thriving ecosystem today, it has been an amazing transformation. The park covers more than 4000 sq. km, you get to see only a very small portion of 450 sq.km.
I went to the park, not knowing what I would find. One of the first things you notice is that the animals here are shy and timid. You need patience and fast reflex to take photographs. The nice thing is that the density is high enough, that you get multiple chances. A big thanks to Castro, my guide at Gorongosa. Not only was he driving and guiding me, he also taught and quizzed me on bird identification :).
