Socorro

Socorro, Mexico

Socorro, officially known as Revillagigedo Islands is an archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. The trip to Socorro started from Cabo San Lucas on the Sol Mar V for me. After a boring 24 hours, we ended up in the tiny island of San Benedicto. After diving for a couple of days, we sailed over to Socorro for three days and then came back to San Benedicto for two more days of diving at El Boiler. Our journey back to Cabo San Lucas was longer and more stomach-churning.

The Socorro islands are known for the circling sharks, the dancing mantas, and the friendly dolphins. Some of the highlights of the trip are the manta flying over to get a bubble massage, a big reef shark with a broken fishing line, a pod of dolphins circling around us and the school of hammerheads.
